So for my final major project i started off with a completely different project which was to try and determine if it was possible to make tattoos fade or age the same on different peoples skin by adding some sort of pigment or variant into the equation.. however after extensive research and meetings with professionals in the tattoos industry and even the cosmetic makeup industry all roads led to one outcome that this could not be achieved as there are too many variable in the equation. things such as exposure to the sun, how much a person baths or showers, what kind of materials come into contact with the tattoos and even the sleeping patterns of the individual can affect the healing and hence fading of the tattoo. determining this was a dead end i had not much time left to come up with a different project for my final major.

At our first meeting another idea was discussed about the social perception of tattoos.. i considered to undertake this as my new final project and focus it on derry. My aim for the project was to develop a questionnaire that i would take to the public with a selection of specific questions to gather information about how many people have tattoos, what kind of people have tattoos and the reason behind them .. also the overall social perception of tattoos in derry. from this i would develop an infographic for the statisics i found and also make a documentary to co incide with this .. the documentary consists of interviews with a local tattoo artist from derry and also random opinions of the public
